It has intense dark colour with vivid reflections. The nose shows aromas of currants, cherries, plums, blackberries, dried apricots, chocolate and coffee. It is unctuous, elegant, complex with a very long finish.
Jay Miller wrote about the wine in the Dec2008 issue of the Wine Advocate:
"...it exhibits an appealing nose of mineral, spice box, cassis, and black cherry. This is followed by a supple textured, easygoing, forward wine with light tannin and an elegant personality..."
Miller has rated the wine as 88 points with an anticipated drinking window of 2008-2016!
